Amanda Richards v. City of Flowood, Mississippi2003-M-02161 - a motion to the Supreme Court for an order requiring the City to reschedule a trial.  The request was denied. (Emergency Stay Motion)

Sunny S. Brewer v. Ritchie W. Brewer, 2004-CA-00040-COA - the Mississippi Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of the Chancellor finding in favor of our client.

Heidi Davis Elmore Duke v. Robert E. Elmore, Jr., 2005-CT-00328-COA - we moved for a modification of custody and were granted custody for our client.  His ex-wife appealed and the Court affirmed the custody modification.  (Child Custody)

 

Daniel Joe Martin v. State of Mississippi, 2006-KA-00145-SCT - we were retained after the client had been convicted when represented by another attorney.  This was a very serious crime and several arguments were presented to the Court; however, the conviction was affirmed. (Felony Criminal Appeal)

Theresia Walls Jones v. Johnny Neal Jones2009-CA-02015-COA - A divorce action involving property distribution.  After we filed a brief in support of the chancellor's ruling in our favor, the Court of Appeals affirmed the Lincoln County Chancellor's decision.

Sweet Valley Missionary Baptist Church v. Mississippi Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company, 2010-AC-00524 - this cause number is a procedural application wherein our firm sponsored co-counsel in the case to practice in the State of Mississippi pro hac vice(Katrina Claim)

Sweet Valley Missionary Baptist Church v. Alfa Insurance Corporation, 2010-CT-01807-SCT - a Katrina Claim, this case was before the Supreme Court/Court of Appeals on two occasions.  In this 2010 filing, we were successful in having the erroneous judgment of the Marion County Circuit Court reversed.  Favorable resolution was ultimately reached. (Katrina Claim)

Tomas Flores v. Gigi Marie Elmer, 2011-M-00050-SCT - the Mississippi Supreme Court agreed with us that interlocutory appeal requested by the other party should be denied.  The case was over a decade old when we were eventually retained and the matter was resolved through our efforts in short order.

John Beasley v. State of Mississippi2012-CT-00644-COA - this was an appeal of the Circuit Court of Lafayette County's ruling against our client in a criminal case.  On the the Court of Appeals was first assigned the case and ruled in favor of our argument client.  As such, we had already prevailed; however, the Court of Appeals did not agree with one legal argument we presented relating to due process.  In light of this, we petitioned for writ of certiorari  to the Mississippi Supreme Court, anticipating an adverse ruling and planning to take the issue to the United States Supreme Court.  Ultimately, the case was not appealed to the US Supreme Court for reasons unrelated to the case.

Sweet Valley Missionary Baptist Church v. Alfa Insurance Corporation2014-CA-01748-SCT - in this case, we served as local counsel with an out-of-state firm and lost the issue on which we appealed to the  Supreme Court; however, we were able to obtain  a favorable resolution of the case in the lower court. (Katrina Claim)
